The Fairfield Bike Shorts consist of five film making workshops which will culminate in the premier screening of films in Fairfield. There will be opportunities for the films to then be showcased in the 2013 Sydney Bicycle Festival and the films will be submitted to the 2014 Bicycle Film Festival for worldwide screening consideration. If the opportunity arises, films will also be submitted to competitions.
Fairfield Bike Shorts film-making workshops are set to commence on Saturday 10th August 2013 and will run for five weeks during each Saturday.
At the conclusion of the five week workshop, we aim to have four (yes, FOUR!) short films in post-production. Participants will work collaboratively in small groups to create one of four formats:
- a fictional narrative
- a documentary
- an animation
- a music video
Along the way we will be documenting this project and the workshops to use as an example of good practice for other municipalities who wish to engage their culturally-diverse community in cycling, art, story-telling and film through the use of community cultural development practices.
